Clark is ELEVEN Months Old!

Clark is ELEVEN Months Old!

How old are you?
Eleven months old (but wearing 18-3T month clothes!)

Do you have any nicknames?
Clarky, Baby

What makes you happy?
Pillows flying, peek a boo, playing chase, bath time, going tinkle in the singing potty (almost every time right before I get into the bath!), playing in Marley's room.

What makes you sad?
Having Marley tell (shove) me no, not being offered the same food as everyone else, being put in the pack n play without a wide variety of toys.

What is your favorite animal?
Kato. I love petting Kato.

What is your favorite thing to eat?
Pumpkin Muffins. Although applesauce cookies are a close second.

What is your favorite thing to do?
Explore EVERYTHING.

What is your favorite song?
Jingle Bell Rock. I shake my booty every time it comes on.

What is your favorite TV show?
Curious George! In general, I'm not interested in television or movies; however, I can be talked into a good Curious George episode.

What are you (starting to get) really good at?
Walking! I take a step here or there...even a few together at one time! And I love climbing so much. Mostly on Marley's ottoman wherever it happens to be.  Mommy gets very nervous but I am so proud of myself.

What is your favorite movie?
Mickey's Christmas Sing a Long. I love all of the music.

What is your favorite color?
Blue. It's always about blue.

Who is your best friend?
Mommy! I love Mommy snuggles the best. I can also tell you that Santa is NOT my best friend. Mommy tried to hand me off to him the other day. Not cool Mommy.

What do you and mom do together?
We play in my room or play games while I sit in my high chair!

What do you and dad do together?
Daddy gives me lots of rides of his shoulders! Mommy covers her eyes but Daddy says I am very brave!

What is your favorite sport?
Golf. I'm obsessed with dropping things off...my tray, my pack n play, my car seat, etc...guess it's a sign of what's to come with my golf game.

Where is your favorite place to go?
Story time with Ms. Wendy during preschool pick up! I'm the most attentive student she has and I love listening to her read.

What is your favorite book?
Little Shark. I love trying to eat the shark while Mommy reads the book. I'm not sure what Ranie was so concerned about. I think they taste delicious!

What do you think about before you fall asleep?
What everyone else might be doing...I don't cry. Instead, I bang on the walls, talk, shout out, and generally make my presence known before winding down for the night.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
An engineer. I love seeing how things work. I'm always picking things up, turning them over, trying to open cupboards and doors, seeing what sounds things make when I touch them or hit things together. My mind is always working!

How is Clark already ELEVEN months old?!? This month his sense of humor has come out in full force.  He thinks the games his big sister plays with him are hysterical and is always trying to engage with her (on the off chance she's not trying to engage with him).  He shares his sister's love of music and we have lots of dance parties in our house.  Initially, Clark is pretty shy with strangers; however, as a long as we're holding him, he is a HUGE flirt.  He tilts his head to the side and gives the biggest grin you've ever seen.  We're up to at least 5 teeth--honestly, it's hard to check with all of the chomping going on around here.  He is sleeping through the night and taking two good naps a day.  He loves grown up food--any type of carb, avocados, green beans, and peas are his favorites.  He is sometimes into eggs, meat, and cheese.  Clark is definitely all boy--he loves climbing and cars. And shouting to get our attention.  He is the sweetest, most cuddly little boy we know!

Clark is TEN Months Old!

Clark is TEN Months Old!

How old are you?
Ten months old (but wearing 18-2T month clothes!)

Do you have any nicknames?
Little Guy, Baby Clark, Baby Brother, Clarky

What makes you happy?
When Marley tickles under my chin, apple squeezie pouches, playing chase, cell phones, Santa singing.

What makes you sad?
Falling down or when Marley tries to move me, being left in the pack n play by anyone other than GaGa, when someone leaves my room and expects me to crawl after them (hello--free ride!)

What is your favorite animal?
Any of the rubber animals I can chew on.

What is your favorite thing to eat?
Apple squeezie pouches and nilla wafers.

What is your favorite thing to do?
Explore EVERYTHING. Opening drawers and cabinets; seeing what Marley gets to eat; crawling super fast to get into the bathroom to explore the cool tile floor before Mommy closes the bathroom door.

What is your favorite song?
Jingle Bell Rock--Santa sings this when you squeeze his hand. But really I love all music.  Dancing is one of my favorite things to do.

What is your favorite TV show?
I'm not really into TV; although my favorite is Curious George.

What are you really good at?
Picking things up. I love feeding myself and rarely let anyone else feed me.

What is your favorite movie?
Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer. I love all of the music.

What is your favorite color?
Red--I love all of the Christmas decorations.

Who is your best friend?
Marley. I'm her little shadow.  I want to be right next to her- doing what she's doing and eating what she's eating.

What do you and mom do together?
We organize and play together.  Today she took the dresser out of my room so Marley and I have even more room to play and there are fewer things for me to get into. And I love playing with the kitchen in Marley's room.

What do you and dad do together?
We do bath time. I love the water so much. Really, I just love exploring the bathroom.

What is your favorite sport?
Cross fit--I love crawling, climbing, heave-hoing, pulling, pushing (drawers--not people), etc. I also love to have BIG gulps of water to rehydrate.

Where is your favorite place to go?
The bathroom. I'm not allowed in there by myself so there is so much mystery and intrigue.

What is your favorite book?
All the little books I can hold in my hand. I love being in control of what I'm reading.

What do you think about before you fall asleep?
What Marley, Mommy and Daddy are doing. I have serious #FOMO (fear of missing out).

What do you want to be when you grow up?
An investigator. This month I have really shown Mommy and Daddy how rough and tumble I can be.  I love exploring everything. I'm into everything and won't stop until I get what I'm looking for--access to the bathroom, a cell phone, Marley, etc. I'm a determined little boy and willing to use all of my strength to get what I need. This morning, Mommy was holding Marley's bottom drawer closed with her foot and I tried to open it with one hand. When that didn't work, I tried using two hands. When that didn't work, I planted both my feet wide apart, put both hands on the handle, and leaned all the way back. Unfortunately, that didn't work, so I used my angry voice with Mommy. This month I also got my first set of scrapes--almost a black eye from banging into the play fridge door, lots of bumps and bruises on my knees from crawling SO FAST. Showing Mommy and Daddy how tough I am!

Clark has changed SO much this month.  He's become more toddler and less baby.  Physically, he looks so much older now that more of his hair has come in and he's had a major growth spurt.  Still tall and average weight according to the charts.  Still sleeping like a champ--down at 5:45/6 and sleeps until 7/7:30--occasionally waking up for more food if he's going through a growth spurt. And taking two naps a day.  Food and drink wise he's looking to be just like big sister. He loves the squeezie pouches and wants to always feed himself.  He taught himself how to drink out of Marley's water bottles so out when the starter sippy cups. He's not too into a paci unless he's really teething or falling asleep. He's become so vocal this month. Constantly chatting with us and changing the tone and intonation of his voice depending on how he's feeling.  He' so easy going and lovable.  Snuggling is one of his favorite things to do! He's loving the Christmas decorations and the Christmas music most of all. We love him so much and can't wait to see what this next month brings!

How long I can cry before Mommy and Daddy will come in and let me play with Marley. So far, they always make me sleep. But I just love playing with everyone.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A demolition man. I do an excellent job of knocking over towers, dumping out bins, flipping things over, running into things with my walker, etc.

The months keep going by faster and faster.  Clark is such a little boy now! He's interactive, and babbles constantly.  So far he only says DaDa and lalala along with a bunch of babbling. He still has three bottles a day--one before each sleep.  He loves fruit the most and pumpkin muffins. He's always trying to grab Marley's eggo waffles.  He sleeps from 5:45/6 to 6:45/8 each day.  With one long nap and one short nap during the day.  He's constantly on the move crawling from room to room, pulling up, walking, organizing, destroying, reorganizing.  He loves to explore the world around him and find out what his sister thinks is so interesting.  He loves giving kisses and snuggles.  He's a huge flirt and plays peek a boo with googly eyes.  He is our sweet boy! He loves to listen to us read books and then go knock down towers.  It's so hard to believe that he's already 9 months old. Can't wait to share our love of the holidays with him!

What do you want to be when you grow up?
An engineer. I'm fascinated by how things go together and how they work.  I spend most of my time opening, twisting, turning over, etc. every item I can get my hands on.

How are is Clark EIGHT months already?!? This month seems to have snuck up faster than all the previous months.  He's crawling like a champ, starting to pull up to stand, itching to start walking, ready to eat all the people food he can find, and continuing to be our sweet baby boy.  He's still sleeping 12-14 hours a night with two naps during the day that last 45 min to two hours a piece depending on the day.  He busted his first two a week ago and is working on several others.  The drool is out of control.  He loves eating real food and so far loves everything we've tried.  Water is his absolute favorite and he loves it when GaGa lets him drink from an adult glass.  Marley let him try play dough for the first time and he was pretty thrilled.  Marley is so protective of him and often shushes us early in the morning while telling us "Don't wake my baby brother. Clark is sleeping!"  Clark has a cute little wobble dance and Marley loves to dance holding hands--she calls it their Beauty and the Beast dance.  Clark loves playing outside but seems to continue to have outdoor allergies.  He is such a happy, sweet, loving baby.  And he's even mastering the signature Frazier hug pat.  We love you so much Clark! Eight months feels dangerously close to one year old....

Clark has grown up so much in the last month.  He loves pulling up on our hands to stand.  He loves playing with his big sister.  And he loves clapping his hands together more than anything! This month Clark got to go to Tahoe the first time and he took the traveling like a champ!  He's an easy, go with the flow second baby.  Clark is loving this new world of toys he can access now that he's rolling all over the place! Last week I headed back to work.  Both kids are so happy to get to play with both Grandmas during the week, but Momma was sad to go! Today was not only Clark's 7th month birthday, but also the first day of school! Clark celebrated the day by crawling for the first time before Momma even got a break for lunch.  Typical.  Thankfully he was crawling to Daddy on facetime so at least one parent got to witness the milestone.  He is still sleeping from 12 to 13 hours a night with one long nap and one short nap during the day. It's so hard to believe that Clark has been here for seven months.  He and Marley love each other so much and have the most fun together.  We love our little family of four and can't wait for all the holidays coming up!

How old are you?
Six months old (but wearing 9-18 month clothes!)

Blowing raspberries, being tickled, Sophie (things are getting pretty serious), peaches, my bottle, and of course, MARLEY!

What makes you sad?
Dirty diapers, Mommy leaving the room, Being tired

What is your favorite animal?
Sophie. Ever since this teething game decided to drag on and on (no actual teeth yet), and Mom has no great solutions to speed things along, I've added another woman to my life.

What is your favorite thing to eat?
Peaches! Especially now that I know there are Apple and Peach pouches. Marley decided to share her's one day and now I'm hooked!

What is your favorite thing to do?
Being near Marley.  I pretty much roll on my stomach as soon as Mom sets me down so I can have a better view of M.  I've even started to bring my knees under me and move my arms a bit.  Mom's thinking Marley might tempt me to crawl soon.  Ya gotta do what ya gotta do...if M moves, I move!

What is your favorite song?
The Grand Old Duke of Clark (variation of The Grand Old Duke of York)
Oh, the Grand Old Duke of Clark,
He had ten thousand men,
He marched them up to the top of the hill,
And he marched them down again.

For when you're up, you're up,
And when you're down, you're down,
And when you're only halfway up,
You're neither up, nor down.

He marched them to the left,
He marched them to the right,
He marched them all the way around,
Oh what a silly sight!

What is your favorite TV show?
Wallykazam. Marley's been introducing me to all of her friends. Norville is pretty funny.

What are you really good at?
Talking and blowing raspberries.  I babble all day long.  I love talking to Marley on the way to preschool.  Blowing raspberries is my new favorite thing to do.  They sound SO funny. I crack up each time!

What is your favorite movie?
No new movies this month.  But we have been listening to the Curious George Movie Pandora station a lot.  Mom and Marley are teaching me their dance moves.

What is your favorite color?
Blue. Everything is blue!

Who is your best friend?
Mommy. I love Mommy snuggles!

What do you and mom do together?
We play and swim together. We also run errands together while Marley is at school.  I also love being in my high chair while Mom is cooking in the kitchen!

What do you and dad do together?
We watch sports together and play with my toys.  He also gives me my bath each night!

What is your favorite sport?
Swimming.  My legs are so strong.  I've been doing a lot of dry land work to improve my kicks.  I kick all day long.  I don't want to take things too fast so in the big pool I mostly float and relax; I save all of my upper body splashing for the bathtub.

Where is your favorite place to go?
My room! I love going down for a rest.  My face lights up when Mom or Dad takes my in my room, turns on the sound machine, changes my diaper and then puts me in my sleep sack! But my favorite part comes when I see the bottle coming!  We've also been playing in my room a lot lately.  Marley loves to play in my room too.

What is your favorite book?
I love my animal tails book.  It's the perfect book to read and chew on at the same time.  On another note... I've been read a lot of Fancy Nancy books this month.  Marley loves them but I always give Mom a funny look.  I much prefer my board books.

What do you think about before you fall asleep?
Mommy! I love Mommy snuggles before she puts me down at night!

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A people person.  I am so smiley and I flirt with all the old ladies at Michael's.  I LOVE facetiming with GaGa while she and Gramps are off on their big adventures.  I've even been known to wake up from my naps RIGHT before GaGa gets to the house so that Mom still has to go get Marley from school but I can have special time with GaGa.  I also love making new friends at the pool and at playgroup!

How has it been SIX months already?!!!  It feels like just yesterday we were impatiently waiting for Clark to arrive.  At the same time, we can't imagine life without him! He is still a happy, easy going baby.  He goes to sleep between 6 and 6:30 most nights and sleeps until sometime between 7 and 7:30 the next morning.  He usually takes a 45-90 minute morning nap with a 2 hour nap midday.  He and Marley continue to love each other so much.  It's the best thing to see.  They love snuggling and playing together.  Marley wants to show and teach him everything and he is soaking it all up! So far she's only teaching him the good things...  This month Clark tried lots of new foods: Oatmeal, Rice Cereal, Apples, Bananas, Peaches, Pears and Pumpkins.  So far so good.  He doesn't love food as much as Marley did/does yet.  He still prefers his bottle...but he loves sitting in his high chair.  He's happy to be at home playing but he is also an angel when we go out to run errands or play at the pool.  We feel so lucky to have two great kids!! Bracing for the next month which will bring Mom's return to work!

June 22, 2016

Clark is FIVE Months Old!

Clark is FIVE Months Old!

How old are you?
Five months old (but wearing 9-12 month clothes!)

Do you have any nicknames?
Baby Clark, Peanut

What makes you happy?
When Marley talks, being tickled, eating, chewing on things, snuggling my stuffed animals, watching TV

What makes you sad?
Being left alone in my crib when I'm not really ready to sleep (I just roll over on my stomach and cry until Mom opens the door; then I stop and smile!). Teething makes me very unhappy.

What is your favorite animal?
My owl lovie. He's so snuggly.

What is your favorite thing to eat?
Formula! Although I got to try oatmeal this month.  I didn't love it; I didn't hate it.  Honestly, right now it seems like a little too much work.

What is your favorite thing to do?
Play with Marley.  Mom usually lets me play with her after her nap.  We get to go in and wake her up! Then I get to snuggle in her bed or play on the floor with her.  Mom reads us stories and Marley and I talk to each other.

What is your favorite song?
Itsy, Bitsy Spider!

What is your favorite TV show?
Curious George. Wherever I am in the room, if I hear that silly monkey, I will twist my body, roll over, turn my head, etc to get a clear shot of him.

What are you really good at?
Rolling over!  I waited until Mom was home from work before I rolled over.  Now I do it all the time.  I like to roll myself to get closer to Marley.  I don't like rolling back over.  I can do it.  However, I prefer to have someone flip me back over.  My legs are getting nice and strong, I'm starting to push myself forward and move one arm at a time.  No actual crawling, but I'm thinking about it.

What is your favorite movie?
The Curious George Movie.

What is your favorite color?
Blue.  Most of what Mom puts me in is blue!

Who is your best friend?
Marley. Always Marley.  Everything she says is SO funny.  She always makes me laugh.

What do you and mom do together?
We snuggle, play with my activity cube and read lots of books.

What do you and dad do together?
We build towers, play trains, and read more books!

What is your favorite sport?
Weightlifter.  I love to lift things up! My hand eye coordination is great so whatever I pick up, I can now put in my mouth!

Where is your favorite place to go?
Marley's room.  She has SO many blankies for me to snuggle!

What is your favorite book?
Are you my Snugglesaurus?  GaGa brought this book over for Marley when she got another cold.  I love the pictures and the big heart on the front.  I love when Mom reads this book to Marley and me.  However, I'm always thrilled when Marley starts to read the Curious George books!

What do you think about before you fall asleep?
My teeth.  I have four teeth sitting on my gums about to bust through at any moment.  I spend most of the day biting/sucking on different toys and my hands trying to get them to bust through.  See photo below.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
An engineer.  I love seeing how things work and am fascinated by all the movement my toys have.  I love sliding the beads, pushing the buttons, and turning pages.  Mom and Dad can already tell that I am going to be very focused in whatever I choose to do!

It's hard to believe that summer is already here and that maternity leave part 2 has started! We all survived the transition of Mom back to work.  We're in the thick of cold #5 since Clark was born, M had an ear infection, C had a sore throat, and Mom has swimmer's ear.  Thankful we're not dealing with more serious things; but we are really ready to be healthy for a significant chunk of time.  All of a sudden Clark is becoming a little person instead of a tiny baby.  He's so interactive and loves us so much.  He's a cuddler and loves to be snuggled, held, played with, etc.  He's curious about everything involving his big sister.  He wants to eat what she eats and play with all of her toys.  Marley has done great so far sharing her toys and some of the Daniel Tiger episodes with Baby Margaret have really helped.  Marley loves Baby Marg, as she calls her, so she easily makes the connection to her brother.  If either Clark or Marley is in a funk, as soon as they see the other one, the funk is immediately gone.  We love watching their relationship develop! He's outgrown his baby bouncer and baby swing so they have both been sold and Clark takes all of his naps in his crib now! Clark is still sleeping through the night with the exception of this cruddy cold.  His leg, arm, and core muscles are so strong! He loves holding himself up and playing with all of us.  His laugh is infectious and we can't wait to see what this next month brings!

May 22, 2016

Clark is FOUR Months Old!

Four months old (but wearing 6-12 month clothes! Mom says I only have another few days in my 6 month onesies...)

What makes you happy?
Marley, Watching TV, Talking, Being tickled, Baths, Recognizing someone when they walk in the room, My owl lovie

What makes you sad?
Bad dreams, Waking up and getting a VERY soggy diaper changed instead of a bottle right away

What is your favorite animal?
My owl lovie.  I have to hold him to nap in my swing. Although Mango is my favorite real animal.  This month I got my very first, full on Mango kiss on the mouth.  The allergist told Mom the doggies makes us less likely to have outdoor allergies so she doesn't worry too much about the kisses.

What is your favorite thing to eat?
Formula! Mom and Dad are finally offering me three whole ounces in between burps! Although since we've had this yucky cold for the past couple of days, Marley has been offering me water to soothe my sore throat.

What is your favorite thing to do?
Watch TV.  It doesn't matter where I am or what I am doing, if I hear the TV go on, I twist my neck and head to try and get a glimpse.

What is your favorite song?
Supercalifragalisticexpialidocious!

What is your favorite TV show?
Curious George! He reminds me so much of my own monkey.

What are you (starting to get) really good at?
I love trying to roll over--especially if I'm lying in front of the TV.  I am SO close.  Mom keeps mumbling something about doing it before she goes back to work...but I keep hinting that I'm saving it for my first day with GaGa.

What is your favorite movie?
Mary Poppins.  With Marley bringing home a lovely cold from school, Mom said we could have a few lazy days to recover.  Thankfully Marley shared her germs with the rest of us, so that meant even MORE lazy days with movies.  Mom's been letting us have our daily dose of Mary Pops.  Sometimes Marley gets distracted, but I could watch the entire thing over and over again.  Mom keeps making me leave the room to read books.  Typical #secondchildproblems.

What is your favorite color?
Blue! It's pretty much the only color Mom puts me in.  Occasionally a little grey or black.

Who is your best friend?
Marley.  I LOVE playing with her.  This month I have started playing (grabbing) her hair.  That's been really special for everyone.  She's always checking on me and making sure I have what I need.

What do you and mom do together?
We go shopping for the house, we read books together, and we do bath time together.

What do you and dad do together?
We read stories together, we eat breakfast together, and we do bedtime together a lot of nights.

What is your favorite sport?
Competitive eating.  All day long I try to eat my fists.  Mom says soon I'll have teeth--whatever those are.

Where is your favorite place to go?
Bakersfield! This month I took my first vacation to see Aunt Lindsay, Uncle Scott and Hudson! Mom and Dad weren't too sure how our first vacation would go and Mom seemed to think I needed a LOT of diapers.  Everyone had a great time.  No one got sick and we got to spend the whole weekend outside.  I can't wait to go back this summer!

What is your favorite book?
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Marley's been singing me the ABCs lately and I love all the colors on the pages!

What do you think about before you fall asleep?
Momma. I love her so much! And lately, we've been doing bedtime together.  When she puts me down for bed, I always give her the BIGGEST smile before she pops my paci in and gives me my goodnight kiss.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A reporter.  I'm constantly babbling and talking.  I have important things to share and I want everyone to know.  I don't yell and scream, I don't need all of the attention on me; but the lack of focus doesn't stop me from sharing my information.  I'm perfectly happy to be the center of attention or be babbling in the background and long as I get to share the news!  I've even discovered there's a boy who looks JUST like me and he'll talk with me if I look into the mirror...it's pretty great.

It's really hard to believe that Clark is already four months old.  The time definitely goes by faster with your second baby.  This month was the most enjoyable month so far! Up until this last week, no one got sick and we enjoyed our first vacation together as a family of four! Clark is so easy going and happy to be on the go to preschool pick up and drop off, meetings, appointments, or Grandma and Grandpa's house.  He's a happy baby that has fallen into a nice routine.  He sleeps 11-12 hours a night (knocking on wood right now!), takes a 45-90 minute morning nap about an hour to an hour and a half after he wakes up, takes his long nap when Marley takes her nap, and then takes another short nap about two hours before bed.  He's eating six ounce bottles in between all the sleeping, and sometimes takes up to ten ounces in the last hour and a half before bed!  He's growing so quickly, I feel like I'm moving clothes around in his room constantly.  He and Marley continue to be besties.  She's always asking for him and is the most attentive big sister.  He loves all the hands on attention she gives him and gives her the biggest smiles of all.  He's still snuggly but we can see all the milestones quickly approaching.  He seems ready for his first tooth any moment and will be rolling over in the next week or so.  We love learning more and more about his personality and growing as a family of four.  Can't believe I go back to work next week!

Clark is THREE Months Old!

Clark is Three Months Old!

How old are you?
Three months old (but wearing 6-9 month clothes!)

Do you have any nicknames?
Clark bear, Baby Clark, Peanut, Clarky

What makes you happy?
Soft, cuddly things. Marley. My paci. My swing. Bath time.

What makes you sad?
Being wet or very hot! I've also mastered the fake cry and the one final cry to let Mom know I'm not too happy about any given situation.

What is your favorite animal?
Mr. Monkey. He gives the best kisses and tickles.

What is your favorite thing to eat?
Formula! Although Marley has been trying to share her waffles with me and they look pretty delicious.

What is your favorite thing to do?
Look at myself in the mirror.  I am VERY handsome.

What are your favorite songs?
Mr. Sun, I'm a Little Teapot and Old MacDonald.

What is your favorite TV show?
Clifford the Big Red Dog. He's not as loud as Kato and Mango; he seems like a great friend!

What are you (starting to get) really good at?
Crawling and Talking! During tummy time I pull my knees up to my chest and push my whole body forward.  And I love talking to everyone.  I'm quite the flirt.

What is your favorite movie?
Mickey's Christmas Sing a Long. Mom and Marley seem to know a lot of the songs and have some pretty sweet dance moves to go along with them.

What is your favorite color?
Blue. Mom says it's my best color and the color of my eyes!

Who is your best friend?
Marley. I love her so much! She loves pretending to be a monster and says "One, Two, Boo!" but I'm not scared. She also plays peek a boo with me and sticks my paci in my mouth.  She really wants Mom to let her hold me.  She's the best big sister!!

What do you and mom do together?
We go out.  This month I've been to a board meeting, visited cheer tryouts and been shopping!  She's my favorite grown up right now.  I had one week this month where I cried each time she left the room.

What do you and dad do together?
Watch soccer and Cars together.  I've been wearing my Arsenal onesies and I love watching Lightning McQueen race around the track.

What is your favorite sport?
Break dancing. Most mornings I wake up perpendicular to the way I was set down in my crib.  I've been practicing my moves late at night.  Once I'm more confident with my skills I'll start showing them off in the daylight.

Where is your favorite place to go?
The swing! I love to snuggle my owl blankie and fall asleep to the motion.

What is your favorite book?
The Adventures of Taxi Dog.  This is another book I heard a lot while I was in Mommy's tummy.  It's a very sweet story and I love dogs!

What do you think about before you fall asleep?
Food.  I spend a lot of time trying to eat my hands these days.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A boxer.  As I said before, eating my hands is kind of my thing right now.  I love chewing on things and always have my hands up like I'm about to fight.  Mommy has made it very clear that I am not allowed to hit and that she would prefer that I keep my paci in my mouth!

We're having a hard time believing Clark is already 3 months old! He's still an easy going baby and is now sleeping through the night consistently! He loves a dream feed if Grant is up late working.  He eats like a champ and is fully immersed in the pre-teething phase.  I anticipate that he will be an early teether like his big sister!  He is growing so fast and it seems like every other day I have to take more clothes out of his dresser because they are too small.  This month we celebrated his baptism at St. Clement's Episcopal Church and had a luncheon back at our house.  We got the pack n play out so he can have a safe space to sprawl out without big sister jumping in and wanting to play.  He tried out the outside swing at Grandma and Grandpa's house and even dipped his toes in the water table.  Clark absolutely loves Marley and it is so special to watch their relationship develop.  The love is totally mutual.  She asks for him all the time and he always gets the biggest smile on his face when he hears her voices and sees her.  She sings him songs and wants to snuggle him whenever she can.  We can't wait to watch their relationship continue to grow!  Clark definitely feels like a baby not a newborn anymore.  We survived month three with only some allergies and one bout of the stomach flu for Mom.  Hoping month four brings lots of healthy vibes and spring weather!

Clark is TWO Months Old!

Clark is Two Months Old!

How old are you?
Two months old (but wearing 6-9 month clothes!)

Do you have any nicknames?
Baby Clark, Buddy, Clark Bear

What makes you happy?
Being held. Lots and lots of snuggles. Warm baths--especially a warm washcloth. Being tickled. My paci. Marley.

What makes you sad?
Being wet. Being in my rock n play after I wake up. Being naked right before I get in the bath.

What is your favorite animal?
Mr. Bear. I'm starting to hold onto his arms!

What is your favorite thing to eat?
A nice, warm bottle of formula. Preferably as SOON as I start to feel hungry.

What is your favorite thing to do?
Be held--I love cuddles.

What are your favorite songs?
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. and Mr. Sun.  I love watching all the hand motions.

What is your favorite TV show?
Gilmore Girls. Mom is making me re-watch the whole series with her while I drink my bottles.

What are you (starting to get) really good at?
Holding my head up! I do it all the time and like to look at everything! I'm also teasing Mom and Grandma by rolling almost all the way over and hanging out there for awhile.  Mommy would really like to see some of my milestones while she's on maternity leave but she says it's too early for me to roll over!

What is your favorite movie?
Kid Songs! Marley has been singing and dancing all month.

What is your favorite color?
Blue. Grandma says it's my color.

Who is your best friend?
Grandma. We spent lots of time together this month while everyone was sick.

What do you and mom do together?
We snuggle in the nursery while we listen to the rain fall...and watch Gilmore Girls...

What do you and dad do together?
Daddy rocks me to sleep. He's the master swaddler!

What is your favorite sport?
Surfing.  During tummy time, I move my arms and legs like I'm paddling in the ocean.  Mom says there are sharks in the ocean.

Where is your favorite place to go?
Grandma and Grandpa's house.  When Marley and Daddy had the stomach flu, I spent the week with Grandma, Grandpa, Kato and Mango. Grandma thought it was cute to try and set me down. But I knew there were plenty of capable arms to hold me all week.

What is your favorite book?
Dr. Seuss' ABC.  As soon as I hear it, I smile! It must be because Mommy and Daddy read it to Marley so many times while I was in Mommy's tummy!

What do you think about before you fall asleep?
Being held. I love to fall asleep in someone's arms. But somehow when I wake up in the morning, I'm in the rock n play. I'm going to have to talk to Mom and Dad about this.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
An Airbnb employee.  Much to Mommy's dismay, I had to spend my first week away from home. I was a trooper and loved exploring Grandma and Grandpa's house.  I slept great in the play room, took a bath in Grandma's baby tub, and they had no problem meeting my dietary requests! Mommy says I'm not allowed to ever leave home again, so we'll see when this career is really able to take off.

Month two went by too quickly.  It was a tough month for us with colds, the stomach flu, and an allergic reaction.  Thankfully, Clark was only hit with a cold.  But it was stressful to experience all of those things with a newborn in the house! Clark continues to be an easy going baby.  He loves to snuggle and is a trooper soaking up all of the love from his sister.  He has started to sleep through the night a few nights a week or he has one wake up.  We are so thankful for his sleeping habits!  We've had lots of rain this month and can't wait for warmer weather so we can start taking more walks.  We can't imagine life without little Clark and wish he would stop growing up so fast!

Clark is ONE Month Old!

Clark is One Month Old!

How old are you?
One month old (but wearing 3-6 month clothes!)

Do you have any nicknames?
Clark Bear, Clark Bar, Baby Clark, Peanut, Spider Monkey

What makes you happy?
Snuggles, my solly baby wrap, my paci at JUST the right moment, and of course my big sister Marley.

What makes you sad?
Being hungry or wet. Or when I have a burp that's hiding. Basically when I get the second child treatment. #secondchildproblems

What is your favorite animal?
Mr. Bear. I try and eat his ears every time Mommy hands him to me.  Mango loves me so much. She barks and barks until Grandma or Mommy pick her up so she can see me.  She's happiest when I'm lying in the pack n play and she's sitting on a dining room chair watching me.  I'm not too sure I love all her barking yet...

What is your favorite thing to eat?
A nice, warm bottle of formula.

What is your favorite thing to do?
Sleep. I just love sleeping.

What is your favorite song?
10 in the Bed. Marley asks Mommy to sing it all the time...by now I can practically sing it myself.

What is your favorite TV show?
Wallykazam. Marley says Bobgoblin is our favorite character right now.

What are you (starting to get) really good at?
Sleeping---I tease Mommy and Daddy with four and five hour stretches (even a six or seven hour stretch). They keep hoping for longer; but then I would miss out on my one on one snuggle time. #secondchildproblems

What is your favorite movie?
Cars! During my last two weeks in the womb, Marley watched the movie lots. Now whenever we watch it, I'm nice and calm. I love to practice my Lighting McQueen race winning moves (sticking my tongue out).

What is your favorite color?
Blue! Mommy says it's my best color.

Who is your best friend?
Mommy. She and I survived 40 weeks and labor and delivery together...so it's only fair that she's my favorite right now.

What do you and mom do together?
We snuggle. In her arms, the solly baby wrap, or on my elephant boppy. I'm not picky; I just love snuggles!

What do you and dad do together?
We stay up late and have lots of talks in the middle of the night. He's been letting Mommy sleep lots so we spend most of our time together in the wee hours of the mornings.

What is your favorite sport?
Soccer. Marley and Daddy told me that Arsenal is our favorite team. I have lots of Arsenal clothing and accessories. Marley has been showing me how to kick the ball!

Where is your favorite place to go?
Grandma and Grandpa's house. Marley and Daddy caught a terrible cold when I was two weeks old so I got to spend three nights at their house. Mommy cried every night and made Grandma facetime with her. Thankfully, I didn't get sick so Mommy says it was worth it.

What is your favorite book?
White House Colors. Mommy reads the pages and Marley says the colors.

What do you think about before you fall asleep?
I don't like any funny business before bed.  No sudden movements or changes.  I like to be rocked to sleep so I can think about all of my favorite people while they hold me in their arms.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
I'm not having to explore any employment opportunities at this time.  My big sister Marley is my caretaker. As soon as Daddy leaves for work, she guards me wherever I am. She tells Mommy she has it covered and will give me my blanket or paci.  If I really start to cry, she'll give Mommy the help sign and let her change my diaper or give me a bottle.  But, if Mommy sets the bottle down for anything other than a burp session, Marley is quick to pick it up and give it back to Mommy.  With this kind of attention to detail and concern for my every need, I'm thinking I've got a good thing going and there is no reason to rock the boat. #secondchildperks

It's hard to believe that Clark is already a month old! It feels like he just got here; but we also have a hard time remembering life before he was here.  I'm glad to not be pregnant and Marley is the best big sister.  She's transitioning well with only a few moments of needing extra Mommy time when she realizes Clark is here to stay.  The exhaustion is sticking around longer than it did with Marley; but that's to be expected with a baby and a toddler! The warm weather has been a nice change of pace so we can all get some outdoor time and Clark loves being warm while we chase big sister around.  Clark is a calm, easy, go with the flow baby.  He only cries if he's hungry or wet and is so snuggly.  He's eating like a champ and packing on the baby chub!  He usually sleeps 4 to 5 hours, wakes up to eat 5-6 oz, and then sleeps for another few hours.  He's a trooper while we do preschool drop offs and pick ups.  He only minds riding in the car if he's hungry.  Just like his big sister, he likes to hold his own bottle; but if his paci is in his mouth, he loves to hold my hand.  This has been such an amazing month with two kids, we can't wait to see what month two brings!

Newborn Photos!

Clark has already changed so much since we took these photos! He slept through the entire shoot like a champ and we even walked away with some adorable photos of Clark and Miss Marley!  These images were captured by Melissa Bartlett Photography.  We love working with her!

baby griki 2: weekly updates!

He's here!

Clark Carlson Frazier
arrived Friday January 22, 2016 at 10:02 am
weighing 8 lbs measuring 20 inches.

Our baby boy was due to arrive Friday January 29th.  However, given my labor with Marley, we scheduled an induction for Monday January 25th.

Sunday January 10th I had contractions for EIGHT hours. Grant kept asking if I wanted to go to the hospital...but since they weren't getting any worse or closer together, I would rather be at home timing contractions than hooked up to a monitor watching contractions.  At least then I could clear out the DVR and be tired in my own bed.  Sure enough, I woke up Monday morning without contractions but completely exhausted.

Thursday January 14th I started having contractions while at work.  After two hours of them getting progressively worse and closer together, I called my doctor.  She sent me to L & D.  I left work in the middle of the day and thought for sure baby was coming.  We got to the hospital, and the contractions stopped.  We walked for an hour, still nothing, so home we went.  Looking back, I really shouldn't have been surprised.  Our children are obviously planners too.  Marley had a day of less movement around 37-38 weeks that put up in L & D.  As soon as we got there and I had some juice, she started moving.  She just wanted to know what to expect.  Clark wanted the same thing.  He needed to know what to expect and to make sure we were ready for him.

The night of Tuesday January 19th, I was having regular contractions every 3 to 8 minutes, lasting 30-50 seconds each.  Given how things had been going the last week and a half, my doctor sent me to the hospital.  We checked in, our nurse had never heard of POTS and wasn't sure why I was taking a beta blocker. I sat on the monitor, and then they had me walk.  30 minutes into walking, I was done.  It was late, I was exhausted, and with the POTS, we actually discovered that the walking STOPS my contractions.  Basically my body can only focus on so many functions at once.  If my heart and autonomic functions are focusing on walking and keeping me upright, the contractions stall.  As soon as I crawled back into bed, the contractions started up again.  But since I wasn't progressing, back home we went....contractions and all.

We made it home around 1 and went straight to bed.  At 2:52am I woke up in the midst of a panic attack.  It lasted for next 20 hours when I fell asleep the next night.  I've never experienced anxiety like that before and with POTS the anxiety can be present but not controllable.  My mom thinks it was because Tuesday night was basically my worst case scenario.  Painful contractions, no progress, a nurse that knew nothing about POTS, and complete exhaustion.  Each visit to L & D was a reminder of how traumatic Marley's labor and delivery were.  I honestly wasn't sure I could do that again but also wanted to make sure we did everything possible to avoid a C section.

By Wednesday morning, it was time for me to put my oxygen mask on first...I needed to take care of myself so I could take care of baby.  I called my doctor, explained what was going on, and asked if there was any change we could move my induction up to Friday January 22nd.  My doctor's office does not do elective inductions until 39 weeks.  She decided to schedule my induction for the night of Thursday January 21st.

Thursday night we called in at 6pm to check in about our 7pm induction.  They told me that all the beds were full and that I should call back at 8pm.  My cardiologist was emailing me to see if I was at the hospital yet and we were hopeful a bed would be available later.  My patience was wearing thin and the anticipation was getting the best of us.  We called back at 8pm and the beds were still full.  They told us to call back at 9pm.  Marley was already in bed, my mom was already at our house, so we were just trying to rest as much as possible.   Thankfully when we called at 9pm, they were ready for us! We were told to arrive at 9:30 and they would have us in a room by 9:45pm!

By 9:45pm we were in our room and I was getting hooked up to monitors.  I was feeling so anxious and trying not to focus on what we went through with Marley.  They hooked me up to fluids, started the pitocin and took my blood work for the epidural.  I had just had blood work done two weeks before so I wasn't too worried about my platelets.  However, my numbers came back even lower than with Marley.  Thankfully, the anesthesiologist was willing to move forward with my epidural.  They used a different wash and tape with the goal of avoiding the same chemical and adhesive burns I had with Marley. (Flash forward: They worked! Only a minor adhesive reaction.)  Got the epidural in place and my blood pressure tanked.  This happens with everyone, and we anticipated it would be even more likely to happen to me because of the POTS.  Once we stabilized my blood pressure, we were in it for the long haul.  They monitored my contractions and continued increasing my pitocin dosage all night.  Grant was able to sleep off and on.  I didn't sleep at all but was able to rest most of the night.  Even though the epidural was working and I wasn't in any pain from the contractions, I could feel the impact my POTS was having.  My body was working hard to maintain all of the things it should be regulating more automatically.

Thankfully, we made it through the night.  At 6am, I was 4.5 cm and feeling very defeated from a long night of contractions.  My body was craving my 7am beta blocker and I was starting to panic that we were in for another full day of labor like with Marley.  My cardiologist came to check on me before he started seeing patients and was pleased with my HR and blood pressure numbers throughout the night.  He said things looked good and to call if we needed anything.

When the nurses changed shift, I was antsy.  We'd had unpredictable luck so far with nurses.  However, this nurse walked in and said that her niece had POTS.  She was completely familiar with it and was willing to do whatever we needed to do to manage my POTS.  She walked out of the room and I told Grant "She's such a blessing!"  She was exactly what I needed to mentally keep me in the game.  At 8:45, my doctor came in and I was 6.5cm.  She broke my water and said she would see us soon! Our nurse told us she was sure our baby would be here by lunch.  What felt like a few minutes later, our nurse called the doctor back and three pushes later, Clark was here at 10:02am!  We are beyond thrilled and relieved that he is finally here...and that his labor and delivery were so much easier than the first time around. Our hearts are so full that our family is complete!

Fun fact...my doctor is married to my boss. Another item on the Campolindo Bucket List I never knew I had (meeting spouse, getting engaged at Campo, having my boss' wife deliver my baby...).
